What a fantastic service, the owner was so helpful , went above and beyond customer service.... the food is sooooooooo good. Thank you
Wonderful food and family owned/ operated restaurant.
Delicious!And nice people.
Very tender delicious flavorful buffet. Although it is their custom NOT to eat beef, they have added it to the menu for us. I thank you for that and the beef dish was AMAZING. All the different flavors went together VERY well. Definitely worth a return visit.
Great food, great service.
Their curry is absolutely fantastic. It's an experience for your mouth to enjoy. I love it.
First time having Indian food and I was so happy I tried it. Had the buffet and it was good to try the different styles of food. Highly recommend and will be back for more.
Tried buffet and had worst experiences. There was no non-veg dishes(except one beef gravy) even very few options for vegetarians. Taste was also not good. Please avoid buffet on this place.
Food is great experience I go. Warm atmosphere and friendly people
The problem i had was my order took too lang to get served and when it did it was incorrect. But whatever i had tasted really good
Best butter lamb I've ever had. One of the best dishes from a restaurant I've had.
This place is our new favorite spot. It’s our comfort food, or go to, our new Christmas Eve tradition. Don’t be intimidated at the prices, everything’s worth it, we always order one dish short for a large group and have plenty of left overs with full happy bellies. We eat out less and just go to this place, guilt free. The food is delicious and despite me mispronouncing most all orders we’ve never had a mistake.
Loved the food!
Finally! An authentic Indian restaurant close to home. Delicious food, generous portions, and great prices. Not sure why they opened in such an unappealing location, as they would get way more business at an in town location like Hallowell, but that won't stop me coming back again and again, love it!Not much to complain about, as the service and atmosphere were perfect the first 2 times I've dined in, but the third time the server was less attentive, and there was no music playing, which made the atmosphere less appealing.
Stopped here two times and really enjoyed it people were very friendly! My friend and I only got a little bit of a meal, appetizers, because we were not familiar with Indian food. We wound up getting the coconut soup and coconut bread, which unfortunately I do not recall the proper name. We really enjoyed it and we definitely will be back when we are in the area. Our only issue, and this is our issue at all places that have televisions, is that we prefer not to have a television nearby. We do not like the distraction and find that it takes away from conversation. Part of enjoying a good meal and sharing the company of the person or persons that you were with. To have a TV on in the background is distracting. Other than that I will highly recommend Mughal Palace.
Very good for vegans and vegetarians. If you know Indian food, there's probably something you like. Extensive menu. Biryani was a LOT of rice with simple peas and carrots stirred in. Not to my liking. Lamb skewered was a little tough, but not bad.
YOU ARE NEVER OPEN.... business that make money are open during business hours.. I’ve called for weeks trying to test your horrible restaurant, Your either “not open, please come again” or “we’re on vacation, please come again”. I will never eat there or anyone I know.. I’m going to put up boycott ads and you can expect random visits from the health inspectors.
The food was really good. I'm glad I don't have to drive 40 miles to get great Indian food anymore.
Sooooooooo good. Super friendly. And sooooooooo good
Immersive dining atmosphere with authentic Indian cuisine and welcoming service. Large portion sizes alongside the vast menu options. Highly reccomend the butter chicken and peshwari naan!
Very pleasently surprised. A group from work saying temporary good bye while a coworker returns to India. He helped make choices that many of us will gladly return for. Nice buffet with many options. I had Keema Mutter a lamb based meal on rice. Medium spicy was perfect for me, however some might prefer mild to start. Seemed a little pricey, however seemed like everything was fresh and well prepared. Bread was freshly made and delicious. Had to take a menu home...
Tried Taj Biriyani which could serve for 3 ppl and it tastes really well. Masala chai is there for tea fans.
The best Indian restaurant I have been too. There hospitality was wonderful. I would 100% suggest this restaurant for anyone.
This is not just another Indian place . This is authentic food with fresh meat . I would say this is the almost same food I get beach in India . Mutton tikka masala is Cooked near perfection . Butter naan were fresh . I would recommend you try this place if you are looking for some Indian cuisine with local produce .
I dined in here a while back and got food from the buffet, and tonight had take-out. Their food is phenomenal, and the service is wonderful. The staff were very kind and hospitable. It makes a great place for an outing or to eat at home. It’s very filling and very worth the money! The best part is feeling full after eating but not feeling gross because the food is very clean and wholesome.
Clean, quiet, friendly atmosphere. Food was excellent.
Absolutely fantastic so many vegan choices so happy to have found this gem of a place!
What a delicious and delightful dinner my friend and I had here last night. (We had to order takeout due to the pandemic) Everything was amazing and authentic. We passed by it on the way to our new home the other day and knew we had to try Mughal Palace. The Gobi pakora were amazing as were the samosas. My friend got the daal saag and I got the lamb pasanda and we would definitely order them again, although there are so many other items we're eager to try too. My friend loved the raita and I could have eaten a whole bowl of the green chutney by itself.Anyway, give this place a try, it's totally worth it.
If you live in Maine and love Indian food, this place is a saviour. Ethnic foods in Maine are difficult to come by periods.
Delicious, healthy options available, & great service.
Really authentic food. Interesting building. Staff is awesome.
Food is great! Ambiance is average but its very neat and clean.
Very unassuming architecture and decor. Snappy signage and fun, colorful paint job (inside and out) would go a long way. Food was pretty good. Poori was perfectly puffy and flaky! Pappadum and standard condiments are complimentary, which is not necessarily standard practice, I've learned to my shock. We both had lamb dishes, "medium," and both of us could have stood a touch more heat.I'd stop again, but not sure I'd drive to Chelsea special.
the waitress was really nice, I even learned some of the food that I was eating. the food was fantastic and I would like to try the buffet.
Best Indian food in Central Maine, a hidden gem. Fairly good atmosphere, not sure why more people don't dine in?
Incredible tikka chicken!! Drove over an hour and half to get it and it was so worth it! Best I have ever had. Highly recommend Mughal Palace, cant wait to go back and try the weekend buffett.Authentic , great food.
There are not many options for good Indian food in central Maine. When this place opened close to my wife's office, we jumped to try. not disappointed! The exterior is not very inviting. Go inside anyway! Great care was taken to decorate in a warm Indian style. The food was top notch and the heat adjusted to order. The menu was HUGE and well developed among all the major Indian cooking traditions.Try it, you won't regret!
Great food, lots of vegan options.
WE HAD A WONDERFUL DATE NIGHT AT MUGHAL PALACE! The food was flavorful. The lamb was tender. The service was prompt and welcoming. The table was set beautifully. The prices were perfect.
I gave 4 stars, we stood at the counter for 5 minutes waiting for someone to come out, but when we got seated they are very friendly and the food was really good never ate Indian food prices not to bad, I would suggest anyone to eat there at least try it. Thank you for our first taste of Indian food
Their food is so tasty! I love their buffet, and I love that I can eat here without feeling like I had too much sodium/salt!
Had really good lunch. We ordered mild spice which was tasty, probably go up to medium per discussion with owner- nice guy!
Favorite Indian in Maine!! They do it right with complex flavors in a range of styles.
Great Authentic Indian Cuisine!!!
My family and I went to this location for the lunch buffet. I food was really good, served hot and spicy. The owners are such a great couple.
We recently moved to the area and we're so excited to discover this place. The food was all fresh and flavorful. The chai tea was delish! I only wish they had labels on all the dishes, but they did label dishes that were vegetarian or vegan.
This place should be packed full of people every night the food is that good. The food, service and variety is fantastic. They also are not afraid of spicing up your food so if you ask for it hot it will make your forehead sweat but if you have a milder palette they will make it as mild as you need. They can accommodate large groups so get some friends together order a bunch of appetizers, breads, and entrees and try them out. They also have a decent selection of beers and a few wines.
I get takeout from here literally once a week. The best restaurant in greater Augusta. Plus $5 tall cans of local brews - thanks for moving from Portland to my neck of the woods
This is our favorite restaurant, by far! Great food and friendly service!!
If i could choose where I could go for dinner for all my life, I would definitely choose this. Service is awesome, and the food is amazing.
